I want to have a fence around my property, but I want to still be able to use my driveway. It makes sense that an electrical gate would be worth looking into for me! That seems like a good way to ensure that I put everything together properly.

Hi Braden, Gate automation is worth the investment. The key it is to ensure the selected hardware and gear are rated for the amount of use. I see often that the use of an automated gate with hardware and mechanized components that are not sufficient for the frequency. I see often that the triggers to reset the gate opening and closing can be mis-aligned and in the wrong distances that can component ware in an excessive manner. Good rule of thumb is to ensure the gate allows a full cycle to open an close rather than having it triggerable mid-open or close to do the opposite. It’s better to wait for the full cycle and be easy on the motors and hinge and pivot ware than to jolt the system…. and this all depends on the system! Hope you connect with a contractor that can help you figure out what is needed for your project! Best regards, Amanda, The Fix It Queen™ – CEO, BidMyVid®
